We don't rush our eye examinations.

Our appointments are booked every  30 minutes to give you time to explain any problems or queries you might have about your eyes or vision.

Our consulting room is equipped with the latest technology, including computer-controlled instruments for glaucoma and visual field screening.

The charge for a private examination is £29.50, or £39.50 including retinal photographs.

DIGITAL RETINAL PHOTOGRAPHY

The practice is equipped with a fundus camera which allows the optometrist to see more of the retina at one time and also records images for future reference. This allows us to monitor changes more closely than before.

This procedure is not available under the NHS and the following charges will apply:

Retinal photography £10.00

Retinal photography if pupil dilation is required £15.00

We recommend this enhanced examination to all adults unless they are already having retinal photographs taken at the hospital or diabetic clinic.

NHS examination groups. Clients who are:

• Under 16 years old (or under 19 if in full-time education
• Over 60 years old
• Registered diabetics
• Glaucoma sufferers or those aged 40 or over who are the parent, brother, sister or child of a person with glaucoma
• Receiving Income Support, Pension Credit or Income-Based Jobseekers' Allowance
• Receiving Family Tax Credit
• Wearers of Complex Lenses as defined in the NHS regulations
• Registered blind or partially-sighted
• Entitled to an NHS eye examination but subject to the restrictions which the NHS have placed on the frequency of such examinations.
